I know there is some freeware tool out there tha does this operation, but I couldn't easily find.
So, if I move the VM from EFI to BIOS, it will boot from the ISO o USB device, but it won't boot from the internal disk anymore.ġst Step: converting the boot disk from GPT to MBR The problem is I have and EFI Vm with a GPT boot disk. Is there a way to have boot from ISO with an EFI VM?Īlternatively, is there supported way to "migrate" a VM from efi to bios? but I couldn't boot from my hard drives anymore! The VM moved to be a bios machine, the ISO files and the USB devices started to work fine. I tried simply changing the firmware value in the vmx file from "efi" to "bios". "Migrating" the VM from EFI to bios is also a good option for me. the USB device is recognized, but the behavior is the same of the ISO file. I also created many USB bootable devices, I attached the USB devices to the VM after booting into Firmware, refreshed, rebooted. The ISO file is surely good, since It works with other bios VMs I tried everything in the firmare configuration, but even if I choose to boot from that device, the machine tries and immediately exits, as if the file wasn't good. My problem is I cannot boot from a bootable ISO file with this EFI VM To do so, I need to boot with an external source (ISO, USB.) that contains the imaging tool.
My final goal is to image a VM I configured in Workstation Pro v14
